Welcome to the English Speaking Society of TMDU!

What is ESS?

ESS is a club aimed to encourage english speaking amongst students.
As students in Japan, although we have learnt the language since elementary school, we have had little opportunity to actually speak in the English Language.  As a result, most of us worry and feel uncomfortable when faced in a situation where we must communicate in English..

ESS provides an environment where students can practice speaking in English in a relaxed atmosphere. Let’s start by first learning to enjoy speaking in English!

What activities do we do?

We hold discussions in English at least twice a month, and occasionally inter-university discussions and speech competitions.

   Every Thursday Lunch time (11:40am~12:50pm) 5号館部室

We call discussions within our university 「CIA discussion」. CIA means Comfortable Ikashika Activity; no relations none so ever with the CIA mind you! ^_^
